Russian Passenger Dies on Antalya–Yekaterinburg Flight
An Aeroflot aircraft operating flight #SU793 from Antalya to Yekaterinburg made an emergency landing at Atyrau Airport in Kazakhstan after a passenger became unwell. The flight on August 25 was operated by an Airbus A320-214 registered RA-73766.
The 41-year-old Russian passenger, who was returning to Yekaterinburg with his wife after a holiday in Antalya, reportedly suffered a sudden drop in blood pressure and nausea during the flight. Initial medical assistance was provided on board, and the pilots decided to divert to Atyrau as his condition worsened.
According to Kazakh and Russian media reports, the cabin crew began CPR after the passenger lost consciousness. Medical teams continued resuscitation efforts after the aircraft landed in Atyrau, but the passenger could not be saved. Kazakhstan’s Transport Police launched an investigation into the death, while preliminary assessments indicated acute heart failure as the cause of death.
